A Quiet Sunday

With my husband off to the game, and the dogs napping, I  think this afternoon is a perfect time to go through my mountain of decorating and architectural magazines - this is a great way to formulate upcoming projects.....won't  my husband be thrilled?

Rainy Dog Day Afternoon

Today is a fitting day to introduce the dogs at the cottage. For any who may not know, the primary inhabitants here are two golden retrievers, Spencer And Henry. It is believed this home was bought for them......or at least the enrichment of their lives. That being said, aside from single handedly trying to jump start the housing market, my job is to keep house for them and maintain the cottage so they have a fabulous place to live.

Their biggest job is to shed everywhere and muddy up my waxed wood floors. My biggest job is vacuuming and mopping, in-between listing and selling homes. Eventually we will get to some renovations and preservation of Magnolia Cottage.......If Spencer and Henry allow us the time.

A Positive Side To A Dreary Day

The positive side of this bleak and rainy day is that it gives me cause to find the leak in the roof...I think a nice hearty dinner and fresh down bedding on my bed will be a favorable way to end the day.  Find a recipe for dinner at www.epicurious.com

Sunrise On The Ridge

As the sun came up on the ridge this morning I noticed the leaves beginning to turn.  Soon the crisp sound of crunching leaves underfoot will mingle with scent of smoke wafting from the chimney, I am reminded there is much to do this time of year.....time to order both our firewood and the Thanksgiving turkey.

As summer winds to a close......

As we end another summer we can look forward to Autumn, and a certain freshness in the air.  This is a good time to plan ahead .....for the holidays, to prep the yard and garden for the winter and ready the house for a comfortable, cozy winter.
